The Tacoma Urban Network (TUN) is a family – community – state social-service partnership that works to assure that Pierce County youths and children are safe, healthy, and thriving.

The TUN mission statement is:  “Our mission is to promote long-term changes in how social services are provided to Tacoma’s children, youth and their families; to improve the quality, coordination and success rates of services.”

Acknowledged for its youth programs applying effective strategies based upon the landmark Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) study plus the work of leading neurobiologists regarding the effects of maltreatment on a developing child, the Tacoma Urban Network is a compelling example of academic knowledge being applied on a local level.
